Don't forget to Include yourself, Momma
I had to let that sink in for a moment.
I was especially struck when I was thinking how I initially thought that I have a tag for every member of my family - doesn’t that include me? Am I not a member of my own family? And how was it that it took me this long to realize I left myself out? Perhaps it is because I have not really had the energy to pursue any of my hobbies that didn't involve my family. Until now.
It’s a powerful realization and wakeup call about motherhood. So often, we are so focused on everyone else that we forget to include ourselves, our needs, desires, and wants. Of course, we must focus on our little ones (it is what we signed up for, after all). But, as part of focusing on them and being able to show up best for them, it is also imperative that we include ourselves in the equation.
But beyond my workouts, I realize, I have not really been making an intentional and consistent effort to include my name on the roster. This is all changing.
My first step: I now have my very own tag.
Do you have your own tag? If not, how can you make sure you get one?
What is one small step you can take right now? I'd love to hear what you decide to do.
